Back in 2010 a dear friend of mine took me to Ru San’s in Charlotte. She claimed it was a “hole in the wall” sushi place & that it was awesome. We went – I loved it. Fast forward a year later, I moved to Atlanta and saw 3 Ru San’s (Piedmont, Edgewood & Buckhead) — so yeah not really a “hole in the wall” sushi place, but it’s still great, affordable, sushi!
I went a few weeks ago, but never uploaded the pictures. I wish I had taken a few more pictures of the sushi plates we ordered and a picture of the miso soup, but unfortunately when the food came out, my mind went off track and went into “stuff your face mode” — which is a hard mode to exit. Luckily for you, I did take two pictures -so enjoy!
Some quick tips: the Piedmont location is on the 2nd floor of the plaza, it’s pretty casual – but if you wanted to get dressed up you would not look to out of place. They have other dishes like ramen, udon & rice dishes. I have only ordered sushi & miso soup – so I can only comment on what I thought about those items (I obviously love them). The venue can accommodate large parties and you don’t need a reservation!
Have you been to Ru San’s? What did you think?
