HELP -TOO FACED PALETTE ISSUES: WHICH ONE?

Hey Beauty Gurus, Beauty Bloggers and Addicts,

I have a feeling I want to purchase one of the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palettes, but I am so confused  by which one to purchase?

Do any of you have a favorite? I tried the first one and LOVED IT, but here is the thing the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar has an amazing color selection as well. I do not want to purchase both, since my life as a lawyer is not TOO exciting, and I feel like the colors are very similar so it would be like buying the same thing twice, but they are different enough for me to warrant a request by you to determine which one I should purchase!

Please help!

Favorite Matte Lipstick: Sephora Collection- Color Lip Last

Hey Friends,

I’m probably sure I have posted about this earlier, but I seriously have a favorite matte lipstick brand, and it is something I’m sure your eyes have glossed over while you made your routine Sephora trip: Sephora Brand- Color Lip Last Collection (http://www.sephora.com/color-lip-last-P313004?skuId=1389147). My obsession started when I purchased the Pure Red and then continued with my next purchase of a color whose name I cannot remember, and then with my latest purchase of Burgundy Spirit (which, by the way, was sold out for 5 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!).

The reason I love these colors and this collection is because the colors go on vibrant, and literally stay on all day. I mean 9am – 3pm at least. I also like them because they do not run, and they don’t end up on my teeth like other products.

I’ve tried other matte brands like Revlon/Covergirl, and my main issue is that when it dries it flakes, and when it flakes I, literally, go CRAZY: I end up trying to apply more and it flakes more -it is just a vicious cycle, and I’m never happy an hour after I’ve applied the product. On the other hand, this Sephora product by no way feels nourishing (but can with a dab of Carmex), but  it does apply well and it does not flake!!

The price point is another reason I continuously go back and purchase this item as well. Unlike the ridiculous price points of its competitors (not naming names but $24 -$30…. I do not THINK SO), the Sephora Color Lip Last is only $13 per stick. Making it affordable to indulge in a whole array of colors, and not just settle for one color.

Have you tried this product? If so, what did you think?

Update!

Hey Friends,

I changed the theme of my blog, and also edited the name a little bit. I think the name will better represent where I would like this blog to go! I hope you’ll continue joining me on my journey!

PSA for ATL restaurants: I would love to feature your restaurant on my blog! Give me a reason & an address – when I’m free I’ll drop by!

Fontaine’s: 1026 1/2 North Highland Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30306

I love Fontaine’s!  Every time I’ve gone, I’ve gotten consistently great service, and trust me I can really, really, really appreciate that! I’m not sure if you know this, but Fontaine’s has weekday happy hour specials– so being in law school, I have the perk of checking them out. Last year I enjoyed an awesome seafood spread of crab legs, shrimp, & oysters!  I loved it!

This year I headed back with some girlfriends. We had an awesome time: talking and munching away. Our server was great (I wish I could give her a shoutout — but I don’t know her name- she was incredibly attentive, even though we just ordered waters and gorged on the happy hour deals).

Here is what we ordered:

Crab Legs!

ImageShrimp Boil! I love getting them & I love making them! They’re an incredibly easy appetizer to make for a dinner party/luncheon/girls night. All you need to do is boil a tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning (per pound of shrimp) , half of lemon and other seasonings you like with a pot full of water. After the water is done boiling add your skin on shrimp! Once the water re-boils remove the shrimp from the pot on to a platter and now you have boiled-peel and eat shrimp!

ImageCalamari– duh!

Have you been to Fontaine’s? Do you love it? Tell me what you think people!

Holy Taco: 1314 GLENWOOD AVENUE EAST ATLANTA GA. 30316

Wow, this is my 2nd post where I say i thought the food was okay. I went for a birthday party a while back — the place was okay. I was happy to be celebrating my friends birthday, enjoying the weather & sitting outside. I did NOT enjoy the people buying and selling drugs across the street. I did enjoy the kindness of the staff and that they brought out plates for us to cut a store bought cookie cake that I brought to the venue! Have you been to Holy Taco? I honestly cannot remember what I ordered, but the birthday boy, LOVES this place, along with my foodie boss from over the summer — I’m apparently the only one that thought it was okay….

Bye!

Atkins Park: 794 N Highland Ave Atlanta, GA 30306

Have you been to Atkins Park? Because of law school I had only seen the crowded bar portion of the restaurant — when I think of crowded, rowdy, bar, I do not associate it with a great restaurant attached to the other side — and this is EXACTLY what Atkins Park is!

A friend of mine LOVES Atkins Park. After being a tad skeptical, I decided I would check it out. Thank GOD I went! I LOVED the menu  and the food. The service was great and the food was well prepared. I loved my dish. I’m not one to want sweet things, but the pairings of the apple with the North Georgia trout was beautiful and the taste was delicate and not over powering. They ran out of the pot roast the night I went, so my friend ordered the special for the night (I think:  brisket with Vidalia onion and local greens.  We also ordered an awesome pimento cheese appetizer with fried green tomatoes: which I LOVE!!!!!!!

Here are few pictures of our meal:

Thankfully, celery is healthy and has only 6 calories per stalk….

I have a quick fact to insert about Vidalia Onions (great dinner conversation piece): did you know that in order to be a “Vidalia Onion” it needs to be grown by or from Vidalia, Georgia. These onions are trademarked by the United States Patent and Trademark office, so you can’t legally grow a Vidalia onion, or sell it without it actually being from the following thirteen Georgia counties: Emanuel, Candler, Treutlen, Bulloch, Wheeler, Montgomery, Evans, Tattnall, Toombs, Telfair, Jeff Davis, Appling, and Bacon; or portions of the following seven counties: Jenkins, Screven, Laurens, Dodge, Pierce, Wayne, and Long.

I definitely stole a few bites of that sweet Vidalia onion and mashed potatoes.

Loved this! Burbon soaked applies with a North Georgia Trout!

Who doesn’t love a side of mac n’ cheese?

Have a great Monday friends! Also, comment below if you have been to Atkins or are now planning to go!

Oh yeah, what should you wear to Atkins Park? Preppy, casual, bar chic, bar trendy. Do not wear clubbing clothes, or a short tight black dress — you’ll look awkward – or like you are trying too hard. Also don’t dress TOO casual. Example: if you decide to wear a t-shirt, khakis & rainbows — you will look like a fool.

101 Posts!

I did it! I made it to a 101 posts (almost as cool as “101 Dalmatians” — a movie that I almost FORGOT). When I started this blog  my goal was to develop a blog which addressed questions of dressing professionally in graduate school, for interviews, networking events & work. Unfortunately, and fortunately, my blog took a turn for food. I guess  your true passions end up shining bright. I still love make up  and clothing (all things material) but I also love cooking and my relationship  with food.

I am sure you can think of a great meal you had with friends, a boyfriend, your husband, your parents, sister, brother, and enemy. You associate food with certain memories. For example, I was just thinking of ramadan and how I made a very dear friend of mine a chili ragu from scratch and we both ate it when the sun came down or when my mother came into town and we had Cafe Bombay with a dear friend of mine. I remember feeling excited and all jittery — the food was great and so was the company!

My former boss from the summer would always take me out to eat at the best places around town, and it’s something I cherish and value. Over lunch he would express to me thoughts on personal matters & work. We had the BEST burger at Bocado. I have since gone back 4 times and have gotten it each and every time. He taught me certain values for when I become a practicing attorney — like tell your clients upfront what situation they’re in, settle the case if it’s a bad case & play fair and square. Although basic principles, these are issues that can be over looked when hiding “simple texts” in discovery or when more money could be made by NOT settling.

Okay here are some events that occurred between post 1 to post 100:

We had okay appetizers provided at  Emory for the Great Gatsby Casino Night!  Also for being okay, I definitely had 10 sliders!!!!! LOL My law school best friend is to my right!

Image

Seafood Bonanza!  I wanted to make my friends a special surprise dinner. We enjoyed this so much that after I finished my 2nd year of law school we had “Seafood Bonanza Part II” and it was great!!

Image

My boss gave me this recipe (which I posted here) I LOVED IT! As soon as I got home from work I started cooking away and were literally done within 20-30 mins!

Nuevo Laredo: my favorite Mexican restaurant in ATL. The wait is always an experience & the food is always worth it!

Image

This awesome, AWESOME, BARA CHIRASHI BOWL at RA Sushi (I’ll be updating this with a full post about my experience there). Spoiler Alert: I LOVED IT — definitely go there for lunch!

One of my friends took me to this awesome Chinese place in Sandy Springs! I LOVED IT! The food was so fresh, the atmosphere was nice. It was a great day. We went for Chinese food, and then had to literally jet over to the mall so I could pick up this cardigan that was on sale at Express and then we picked up Cinnabon. Such a fun evening!

Have a great day friends. Thanks for following me, supporting me and for reading my random banter. I appreciate each and every single one of you!
