CREPES

I made another BETH recipe. Once again, I loved it!  I cannot wait to go home right now and make more crepes. I’m serious. I’m in law school too — I do not have the time or energy, but I always find my mind trying to convince me otherwise. Long story short — I made it. My only 2 cons are  clean up (I had a bunch of bowls to wash) and the fact that you can only make one crepe at a time (which is annoying when you’re entertaining and want everyone to enjoy a hot fresh crepe).

I stuffed my crepes with Biscoff Cookie Butter and a blueberry jam! I’m thinking about making a savory crepe– any suggestions?

Rosebud Burger (Short Rib and Brisket meat)!

Image

I went into work this past Wednesday and had a great time listening it to a great client meeting with my boss. The client has is a band (incredibly talented) and their father has quite the life story (so wants to figure out a book deal). After the client meeting, my boss suggested we go  and grab some lunch– he suggested Rosebud. If you can remember from a previous post, I had a great experience at RoseBud in October for my birthday! The food and service were great, and, once again, Rosebud did not fail to deliver.

This time I wanted to get the LOBSTER QUICHE! Unforunately, they were sold out! Fortunately, I decided to try the Burger– and O.M.G. IT WAS SO GOOOOOD. I enjoyed half of it as Rosebud, along with a pasta salad. I enjoyed the 2nd half of it for lunch the following day (and it was still amazing)! The burger is juicy, and I devoured every drop of the bbq sauce and I love the caramelized onions and the slice of homemade cheddar (which reminded me of Brie)

My Boss is on the Atkins diet and is trying to get healthy and lose weight for the upcoming holiday season. I admire his commitment to good health. He watches what he eats & runs, yet still gets to enjoy all of the great Atlanta food and drinks. He truly lives a balanced lifestyle.

He ordered a “Dude It’s a Salad”. He LOVED it!

it comes with a Bison burger. Bison meat is leaner than beef and has a higher iron content than beef! It’s truly great meat for my health  conscious friends.

I hope you check out these two dishes at Rosebud. Tell me what you think!

Perfume: Britney Spears and My collection!

Have you heard the new Britney Spears song:

I love this song! It’s incredibly on point. Do you remember not knowing what was going on in a relationship and you have to pretend to play it cool because you don’t want to seem like that crazy girl? Well in the song Britney Spears sticks it to this “girl” who may or may not be real! She says:

have you been thinking ’bout her or about me- And while I wait I put on my perfume, yeah I want it all over you -I gotta mark my territory

All of this perfume talk gets me thinking of my scents and how the smell lingers on my friends. I always have a few bottles of perfumes–so depending on my mood or the occasion I pick my scent! The three perfumes I currently own are:

  1. COCO MADEMOISELLE PARFUM ($115): Such a classic scent. I love it, it sticks on my clothes and can be detected as I pass through doors — and people always know the distinct smell of Coco!
  2. MARC JACOBS FRAGRANCE Daisy ($70): I wear this to school (almost) everyday! It’s fun and playful. I’m not sure if it sticks on my clothes? Definitely more floral and chic.
  3. RALPH LAUREN Ralph ($67.50): I use to wear this in college EVERY single day! I loved it i mainly use it when i want to appear fun or if i’m going out! i love the smell — I wouldn’t wear it to an interview, but i would wear it out  to dinner with friends or going to the mall!

I own the rollers versions of:

  1. RALPH LAUREN Ralph ($20)
  2. RALPH LAUREN Romance ($20)
  3. STELLA MCCARTNEY ($?)

I love roll-ons! They’re awesome — they fit perfectly in your purse and you can always smell great when things get a little hot and sweaty. Who doesn’t love a fresh smelling girl?

Product I Continuously Buy

I am a beauty and food addict. Sometimes beauty is a little challenging to write about it, because  there is so much good stuff out there, and requires a more detailed review, but I would love to share products with you that I continuously buy:

  1. Moroccan Oil (I purchased this 4 times–since trying it 3 years ago). It’s a great product, and now it’s like conditioner, body wash & shampoo– it’s apart of my routine. I put it in my hair after I shower, put it in my hair after I’m done styling it!
  2. TRESemme Heat Protectant Spray (the red bottle– I’ve purchased this 3 times since trying it in 2011). I feel like this is a great product –and hopefully it’s doing what it’s suppose to –because i feel like it is and it smells greats and curbs the frizz mid going out or mid-dinner with friends!
  3. Apple Cider Vinegar (bought this twice since buying it in October, 2013). I am obsessed and will have a WHOLE post dedicated to it! Needless to say: great for your HAIR, SKIN AND WEIGHT!
  4. NARS “Larger Than Life” lipgloss in Place Vendôme: OMG LOVE IT! AHHHH but I hate the price tag ($26). I only wear it for special occasions/going out & the quality and consistency is awesome, it’s thick, glossy, stays put, leaves my mark on glasses, and has a pretty residual effect!  when i wear it people always notice it and my girl friends are always trying to “borrow it”  so it’s  WINNER! and once i get some time I’ll go out and purchase it again!!
  5. Revlon  Lip Butter in Candy Apple: I’ve purchased it twice. great color, feels great, and doesn’t flake or dry out!
  6. Nexxus Shampoo and Conditioner: I’ve been buying it since 2009. Salon quality product – i like the lather.
  7. Foaming make-up cloths:  I usually buy Oil of Olay or Ponds, which ever one is on sale – they’re both great. i use them alot when i’m worried about over working my skin with the Clarisonic!
  8. Neutrogena Grapefruit Body Wash and Face Wash: (Purchased this 4 times!) It seems natural and I like the grapefruit aspect.
  9. Make Up Forever’s Black Eye Liner: LOVE THIS. i use to wear regular drugstore liner (Revlon, Cover Girl, etc) but it would always end up ON my contacts and then at some point during the night my eyes would feel irritated and my vision would blur! Ever since buying this I can say that it’s NEVER HAPPENED. I love this product, and WILL be purchasing it again ($20).
  10. Falsie’s Mascara with the bottom lash brush: LOVE this mascara. My relationship with it is turbulent because it dries out out my lashes and sometimes flakes — but I the results i get with Falsie’s does not compare to any other brand i’ve tried — it’s just AWESOME – people always compliment my lashes. I have purchased at least 5 or 6 tubes!

Chinese Food: Chong Qing Hot Pot (Atlanta)

Image

I was recently on Instagram when one of my friends posted an awesome picture of “hot pot.”  I soon googled it, and realized that I think I would LOVE it, so naturally I googled “Best hot pot in Atlanta” and this Yelp! review appeared: http://www.yelp.com/biz/chong-qing-hot-pot-atlanta.

I soon messaged some friends in hopes of tasting this foreign delight, and not to my surprise they also were excited to check it out.

We headed over to the venue late Saturday evening around 8ish, and it was in a Chinese Strip Mall next to a ViP Chinese Buffet restaurant.

Chong Qing Hot Pot is located in a food court and only accepts CASH. There is an ATM machine there, but it’s one of those machines that charges you a service fee.

(Lamb Spicy Hot Pot)

On to the food: I was lucky enough to try a sample of things since I ordered a variety of things with a few friends. We ordered a beef hot pot (not spicy)  and a lamb hot pot (spicy). Being the spice addict that I am I really enjoyed the spicy broth over the non-spicy broth. I tried dan dan noodles, orange chicken, & egg drop soup. All of it was good ….and all of it was, surprisingly, well priced (each item was under $10)!

(Chili Chicken –actually not sure what this is!)

I will definitely go back to this food court and I will definitely sample some of the other Chinese food vendors in the food court too — specifically the Chinese BBQ vendor!

Have you been here? If so, what did you think?

Aretha Frankensteins

Aretha Frankensteins

Have you been to Aretha Frankensteins? What did you think about it?

I found the service to be poor, the food to be okay, the wait to be too long, and the venue to be understaffed.

The options were subpar& the most raved about menu item, the biscuits, were not available (ahhh) — due to the oven being broken for over 4 weeks.

The home made apple butter was awesome, but still — it’s the only winning aspect of the whole experience.

Sorry Aretha, but next time I visit Chattanooga you will not be on the bucket list!

Western and Atlantic Railroad

Western and Atlantic Railroad

I love being a tourist in my own state/neighboring state! I seem to always take for granted all the little gems that are near by — luckily I know someone who is well acquainted with GA history, and history in general (visit: Countytrip.wordpress.com), so it’s always a blast when they take me along for the ride.

We visited Western and Atlantic Railroad Chetoogeta Mountain Tunnel. I decided to tap into my inner Bollywood star and pose!

Now on to my outfit for the day (OOTD):  I’m wearing a white cotton sleeveless button down from H&M (probably $12?), bright coral shorts from J. Crew ( probably $20), a Missoni inspired cuff from Forever21 ($9), & tan suede oxford shoes from Express ($25).

Cheers!
